Ex-Commissioner Police says critics of Buhari’s presidential ambition are agents of corruption
A former Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Tsav, has dubbed those urging Muhammadu Buhari to drop his 2015 presidential ambition as the "enemies of Nigeria".
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Makurdi, Tsav said those opposed to Buhari’s participation in the electoral process were political saboteurs and enemies of the country.

Jellyfish evaporate in the sun. They're 98% water!
When jellyfish are in the water, they can be a bit intimidating.Their tentacles can pack a painful electrical shock.
Once they wash up on shore, however, they are anything but intimidating.
It turns out that jellyfish are 98% water. Most are transparent and bell-shaped.
If they end up on the beach, they will most likely evaporate in a few hours and mostly disappear.
Ebola Zmapp drug has been sent to Liberia.
In a bid to curb the Ebola Virus, Liberia will receive an untested experimental drug, ZMapp, to treat people infected with Ebola, the Liberian government says.
United States company that makes the experimental drug said Monday it has sent all its available supplies following a request to the US from Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
The World Health Organization said about 1,013 have died from Ebola in West Africa as medical ethics specialists met in Geneva to explore the use of such new treatments.
US government officials said their role had been to put Liberian officials in contact with Zmapp maker Mapp Biopharmaceutical. The pharmaceutical company said its supply of the drug was exhausted after its supplies were sent to West Africa, AFP said.
The drug was “provided at no cost in all cases,” the company added.
Zmapp has been used in the US on two aid workers who have shown signs of improvement, and a Roman Catholic priest, infected with Ebola in Liberia, who is currently being treated in a hospital in Madrid.
However, the drug has only been tested on monkeys and has not yet been evaluated for safety in humans. The World Health Organization (WHO) will announce the outcome of its emergency meeting on the role of experimental drugs later on Tuesday.
“In responding to the request received this weekend from a West African nation, the available supply of ZMapp is exhausted,” said a statement on the San Diego, California based Mapp Bio Pharmaceutical website.
“Any decision to use ZMapp must be made by the patients’ medical team,” it said, adding that the drug was “provided at no cost in all cases.”
The biomedical collaboration between US and Canadian researchers involves a drug that is manufactured in tobacco leaves that is hard to produce on a large scale.
Mapp Bio Pharmaceutical was founded in 2003. On its website, the company says it is a “novel pharmaceuticals for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, focusing on unmet needs in global health and biodefense.”
The San Diego based firm has only nine-employee, according to ABC.

Powerful Mexico earthquake triggers panic in capital
Wide area of Mexico hit by earthquake; preliminary magnitude put at 7.2
The quake was 14 miles deep
and felt in nine of Mexico's 31 states, according to the USGS, with the
epicenter located in the coastal state of Guerrero about 200 miles southwest of
the capital.

US President Barack Obama has urged his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to use his influence to make separatists in eastern Ukraine stand down.
The phone call between the two leaders came as pro-Russian activists continued to occupy buildings in eastern towns.
For his part, Mr Putin rejected accusations of Russian interference, calling the reports "unreliable".
EU foreign ministers said on Monday they would expand a list of names targeted by sanctions.
Tension has been steadily rising since Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula, formerly part of Ukraine, last month.
The move, condemned as illegal by Kiev and the West, followed the ousting of Ukraine's pro-Moscow President Viktor Yanukovych in February.

Nigeria to buy new fighter jets and helicopters
ABUJA, Nigeria — The chief of Nigeria’s air force says it is buying new fighter jets and helicopters.
The air force has been pivotal in an offensive to curb an Islamic uprising in the northeast with near-daily bombing raids on insurgent hideouts in forests and caves along the border with Cameroon.
Air Marshal Adesola Amosu said Wednesday that the government has approved the acquisition of fighter aircraft and helicopters as well as upgrades for some existing aircraft.
